Book Proposal

Today I have been approaching publishers, asking if they would be interested in receiving the book proposal for our first collaboration.  Hopefully someone will ‘bite’! I have emailed giving details of my media work and the media work I will be involved with at a national level come mid April. So hopefully my media profile will help gain interest in the book. That’s the theory! 

Anne is currently working on the outlay of the book-what goes where and how! I am still noting down quotes and working on poetry ideas. We have not completed much over the past couple of weeks, as we have spent the time moving house. But now that is all settled, its full steam ahead to get this book collaboration complete!

February 25th. Have started writing!

Good afternoon! Today I have started to compose some poetry and quotes to work with Anne’s wonderful images. As in past years, I find working on poetry, a very deep and thought provoking process. This is the first time in many years I have tried to construct poetry. Ted Hughes, the great poet, once said, words/poetry, can have the impact-like an explosion of an atom bomb! I have always agreed! I have always found poetry the strongest and most expressive form of writing. I can never and will never claim my work will have an impact such as other poets-but…I know my work comes from the heart and causes me to go deeper within myself. It also brings me joy to write it and a sense of achievement when complete.

‘Trees’ February 13th.

Hello and Good Morning! This is the first blog entry for this site. Its February 13th and both Anne and myself will be leaving written entries keeping you all informed about our first book collaboration (I hope, the first of many!) Here, you will find updates about our thoughts and ideas and information how the book is progressing! The book will contain photography/artwork by Anne and I will be providing the written work in the form of quotes and poetry.

Over the years, much of my written work has been published in medical journals/publications, for the BBC and much more. This is the first time in many years I have attempted to write poetry. Poetry has always been my first love, where the arts are concerned.

In the early to mid 90′s, some of my poetical works were published in literary magazines but since then I have not written any at all. I am very much so looking forwards to hopefully bringing my poetry back to life with this new book -’Trees’!

I am very excited about this book project, I have a passion for trees and never tire from shooting them. They are our link to nature, to the past, to the future.  The aim of the book is to build a collection of my trees  combined with Stuart’s poetry and quotes.  A collaboration that I’m very much looking forward to.
